Testimonials from 2007

Below are a number of testimonials we received in 2007. We have included the money raised so that you can get an idea of what to expect from the Live and Silent Auction Kit.

The MONEY RAISED information is the MONEY THAT THE ORGANIZATION GETS TO KEEP. All costs were deducted from the amount already. Thanks!

Jennifer from a Community
Foundation in IL

Auction Date: 11/07

Money Raised: $260

It is appreciated that you offer the opportunity at an "affordable to participate" cost which allows the non-profit to offer an interesting variety of auction items to patrons while still allowing a profit or donation to be received by the non-profit.

Caitlin from An Environmental Group
in CO

Auction Date: 11/07

Money Raised: $100

Make the consignment deal cheaper.

Note from Jenna: We would love to make it cheaper and allow more organizations to raise more money. But, our costs do not let us make it any less expensive. We have to pay the pilots for giving these rides. We also have a small advertising budget that allows us to pay for a handful of ads in educational and religious publications as well as sponsored links online.

Melinda form Special Olympics
in Washington

Auction Date: November 2007

Money Raised: $370

The color posters and location listing were good. I would like more of a display/point of sale type sign or materials/fold out balloon/more impact for silent auction table.

Note from Jenna: This is a great idea, and I have heard it before. We can't afford to send anything out with the kit. But, if feedback on our new raffle tickets is good. Then I will know that an online printable solution may work for this too! Stay tuned.

Karen from a Cancer Research
Fund in New Jersey

Auction Date: September 2007

Money Raised: $160

We have used this before and will again! Don't make any changes, it is very easy to use.

Susie from a High School
Senior Class in Virginia

Auction Date: October 2007

Money Raised: $400

We got a sponsor for the ticket and it was very easy to set up.

Kim from a Breast Cancer
3-Day in Florida

Auction Date: October 2007

Money Raised: $25

Big ticket item to draw in larger crowd. Worked great for me three years in a row!

Note from Jenna: How can she be happy with only $25 in money raised? Most of the time people have great results in their auction. But, sometimes it doesn't work out that way. But, believe it or not, I rarely get negative feedback. Like Kim, auction organizers got other things from the item. It raised overall bidding enthusiasm, it created buzz at the event, and they look like a hero for bringing something new to the table.

Jeanie from a Methodist Church in Oregon

Raffle Date: September 2007

Money Raised: $280

Easy to understand--promotional materials were good. I did it as a $20 raffle ticket. I sold 26 tickets. $520-$240=$280 profit for our church. THANK YOU!

Note from Jenna: As far as I can tell, these tickets were just sold after a church service, not at a special event. That is the beauty of the raffle, you don't need a special event to have a raffle. Just set up a table and go. You can even print raffle tickets from our website. Click here to go to our Raffle Ticket Page.

Jennifer from a Volunteer Fire Department in Texas

Auction Date: September 2007

Money Raised: $1,055

I liked the colorful ad. No changes.  Thank you!

Note from Jenna: Wow! Great, huh? I don't know for sure, but these might have been the result of a live auction. Some auctioneers can really make the most of these items. The final bidding on their Balloon Ride for Two was $500 and their Balloon Ride for Four was $1,275.

Nad from the Parents Association
at a Nursery School in California

Auction Date August 2007

Money Raised: $$350

The reduced price you offered made it easy to find a sponsor.
Mary at a Catholic School in Ohio

Auction Date: November 2007

Money Raised: $360

Your kit is very well organized. You don't need so many testimonials.

Note from Jenna: Mary, we listened to you! We moved our testimonials from our home page to their own separate page!

Deborah from a Ronald McDonald House in California

Auction Date: June 2007

Money Raised: $500

We paired this with a hotel stay in Del Mar. We received $900 for the package.

Marla from a Children's Advocacy Center in Texas

Auction Date: May 2007

Money Raised: $760

No $$$$$ Upfront
Nancy from an International Relief Group in New York

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $195

Very easy to do. Adds "Wow" to our auction items.
Eldon from a Rotary Foundation in Minnesota

Auction Date: April 2007

Lora from a Lutheran School
and Church in Florida

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $260

Simple!
Kathy from a Lutheran School in Michigan

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $760

Signs for the auction worked well. I think this should be a live auction item. It did great!
Melody from a High School
in Maine

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $185

Easy to promote and no upfront cost.
Kerry from a Kids Camp
in Connecticut

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $210

It was a unique item for our auction that worked very well--Thanks!
Kim from an Elementary School in California

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $480

It was so easy, everything was taken care of. I wouldn't change anything!
Shari from a PTA group in New York

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $20

Worked well. Our minimum bid was too low!

Note from Jenna: When I do get negative feedback from a volunteer, it is usually because the minimum bid was set too low. Sometimes, the people setting up the actual tables are unaware that the item has a cost associated with it. They are overwhelmed with details and don't put too much thought against it. So, as long as everyone is up to speed on the cost of the item, you shouldn't have a problem.

Terrie from a Senior Center
in Georgia

Auction Date: April 2007

Money Raised: $360

Information was excellent. Procedure was well explained. Larger photos of the balloons would be good. Maybe one full page with just a colorful balloon?
